The electoral college is basically delegates from the states casting votes for the president. Each state gets a different number of delegates.

The states get to decide these delegates. It is their sovereign decision. It just so happens that the states ask their citizens to vote

It is entirely legally plausible that a state could say "the citizens of our state have elected that henceforth our electoral votes will be decided by Sudoku competition". They could decide that their votes will go to the survivor of a Thunderdome fight. It is up to the state.

Once the state has decided the delegates, they cast their vote. It is entirely legally plausible that the delegate can ignore everything that came before and vote for another candidate. Or 3rd party. Or their aunt Dorothy. The delegate now has the sanction of the state to choose.

Those votes have been cast and Biden has won. The end.

Even if what Trump claims was true. Even if voting machines were tampered with. Legally, it doesn't matter.

Those votes actually no longer have legal bearing on the Presidential election.

Trump knows this.

The point is not to "fight", the point is to solidify his cult around a mission around a fortress of lies.
