The Stefon Diggs trade this past offseason was one that turned many heads for a few reason. First, Stefon Diggs cost more to acquire than DeAndre Hopkins. Second, the first round pick the Bills spent to acquire Diggs turned out to be Justin Jefferson.
While Jefferson put together one of, if not the best years by a rookie receiver in NFL history, the cost of Diggs was still well worth it.

Many faded Diggs after the trade. A receiver moving mid-career to a new organization with an inaccurate QB (wrong). But Diggs delivered...
Diggs is an elite route runner. He's smooth in and out of his cuts, featuring an incredible quick-twitch ability that allows him to elude defensive backs both in his routes and after the catch. In fact, last March @MattHarmon_BYB wrote about Diggs' route running stating:
"Stefon Diggs ranks No. 1 on the best route-runners list." He wasn't kidding. Diggs has been open all year, providing an incredible safety net for Josh Allen.
What many overlooked was the fact that the routes Josh Allen excels at throwing (deep crossers, deep outs) are the same routes that Diggs excels at running. Diggs' maximizes his agility with his incredible ability to change direction, generating incredible separation.
He's an intelligent route runner, finding the soft spot in the defense and using his speed to get them out of place.

Josh Allen needed a receiver like Diggs. With his cannon of an arm, a receiver who creates a big target window is a huge advantage.
With Allen's development both in his accuracy and decision-making, Diggs has become even more electric. Diggs' separation combined with Allen's quick decision making and much improved ball placement puts Diggs in the perfect situation to make something happen after the catch.
Diggs' numbers speak for themselves. The pairing has been a match made in heaven. In his first year for the Bills, Diggs broke the franchise record for receptions (127) and receiving yards (1,535). Absolutely amazing.
No one was close to matching Diggs' reception total. The next best was DeAndre Hopkins who had 12 less. No one came close to Diggs' yards total either. Once again, the next best was DeAndre Hopkins who had an impressive 1,407 - still 128 yards less than Diggs.
Diggs has just entered his prime, turning 27 this past November. He has put his money where his mouth is, showing that he is truly one of the best receivers in the league.

Congratulations @stefondiggs on a historic year. I'm looking forward to many more.
