This prayer is still ticking me off. It's a good example of the syncretism of Trumpism with Christianity. It is wildly false teaching. I reject and repudiate this pastor's words as NOT Christianity and not cohering with the Bible. He needs to repent of being a false teacher. https://twitter.com/hollykmichels/status/1346204821309689857
This pastor has lost his way. Jesus said it would be better for someone to be tossed into the sea with a millstone around his neck than to lead the flock astray. That's how seriously Jesus takes false teaching.
Jesus said "Love your enemies and pray for those who persecute you." This pastor calls people enemies and bears false witness.
Jesus told us his kingdom is not of this world. This pastor stirs up people to equate God's kingdom with the kingdom of this world. He actually claims the name and blood of Jesus to defeat "the Deep State." What this has to do with God's kingdom is beyond me.
This pastor treats as biblical dogma such things as "free market system" and as biblical anathema such things as a "cashless society." The Bible does not comment on these matters or make them an article of faith.
This pastor does not follow Christ's example of saying "Thy will be done," but TELLS God what God's will is, effectively saying, "MY will be done." What IS God's will? "That President Trump will be lawfully seated and continue to drain the swamp."
He invokes "Your Kingdom Principals" but largely has no understanding of what those principles are. Something like the Beatitudes has almost no place in this pastor's theology. Read him the Magnificat and he might call you a Deep State Marxist.
In short: Jesus's kingdom is NOT of this world. Setting up earthly empires for the good of oneself is opposed to the impact the gospel should have in our lives. The Bible doesn't give us a specific governing system but does counsel us on how to live our lives with our neighbors.
This bearing false witness, engaging in confusion of the kingdoms, and losing the supremacy of the gospel and its resulting care for neighbor is antichrist. It is damaging the witness of the church and the gospel in our society. Such Christians have lost their way.
Repent.
