There's a reason I'm fascinated w the #Kenney melt in #Ab It has nothing to do with the radioactive segment he did with me wks before the 2019 elxn. While I knew that while he was never a populist, I did think he was one of Canada's brightest bulbs at understanding populism.
He was always brilliant at connecting all of Western Canada's challenges to Latte loving elitists in Canada's Liberal triangle, Montreal, Toronto and Ottawa. It never occurred to me that he would rationalize, defend & support privileged people flaunting their entitlements.
It never occurred to me that he would do that because he was so smart at identifying the entitlement virus in opponents and making them miserable. The Jason Kenney I once knew would seize on an opportunity to shun and shame anyone caught on the wrong side of grassroots folk.
He had a room service opportunity to mow down the miscreants in his own ranks last Friday. He could have cemented himself to the hearts of everyday Albertans. But instead he played the professor card. He was the know it all above it all elitist.
Last Friday at his all over Heck's half acre presser, Jason Kenney became the guy he loves to demolish. If he were tweeting this he'd be tempted to look for some Greek myth to describe his act of self destruction. But in simple Canadian Common Sense language,
#JasonKenney got too big for his "shitkickers" and it's kicking the crap out of him.
