(A THREAD): ⬇️ its a tad lengthy, read it all if your led to i promise its worth it 🤝

The significance of the Oil, Wine, and Wheat/Grain in the bible.

Also why the woman anointed Yahushua(Jesus) to signify His burial.
In the bible we see many things and overlook them, knowing they have significance but don't really pay it much mind, lets change that perspective with this thread 🙏🏿
In the bible we often see Oil used to Anoint (to dedicate to the service of God or make sacred) and to sanctify (to set apart, Holy, to purify/free from sin).
“She has done what she could. She has come beforehand to anoint My body for burial.”
Mark 14:8

remember these two points for later (Oil, and Mark 14:8⬆️)
Wine: we see wine often used as the "wrath of God" but thats for another time... and in most other cases for joy, celebration, festivity, expressing the blessings of God
“And he said to him, “Every man at the beginning sets out the good wine, and when the guests have well drunk, then the inferior. You have kept the good wine until now!””
John 2:10

This was the beginning of the signs of the "Good News" (New Wine) He was bringing
Wheat/Grain: Martyr, put off the old, put on the new, die to self... how did i get this you might say? Check below ⬇️
“But Jesus answered them, saying, “The hour has come that the Son of Man should be glorified. Most assuredly, I say to you, unless a grain of wheat falls into the ground and dies, it remains alone; but if it dies, it produces much grain.”
John 12:23-24
The hour has come to be glorified! Glorified in His death where He was raised back up in the Fathers Glory! Unless a grain of wheat goes into the ground and dies it cant be risen back up into a new crop! (He was raised in the Spirit, the new man, "as He is so are we")
So now
Wine: Celebration, festivity, joy, expressing the blessings of God
Oil: Anoint/ Sanctify
Wheat/Grain: Martyr, put off the old, put on the new, die to self
When you combine these 3 you get a person who is introduced to the Good News (New Wine) rejoicing in it, purified and presented to God as a holy living sacrifice in service to God (Oil) and a person who has been freed from self, sin and death (Wheat/Grain)
“I beseech you therefore, brethren, by the mercies of God, that you present your bodies a living sacrifice, holy, acceptable to God, which is your reasonable service.”
Romans 12:1 (bless your hearts and minds to understand and receive 🙏)
The mount of Olives was named for its numerous olive groves(Oil) and the Olive Oil presses located at its base. Jesus spent His last evening there (Gethsemane= Hebrew "Gat Shemen"- "press of oil". Connected to the Aramaic word "Mesah" meaning anointing oil (to anoint).
Now that we have context lets get to the Mark 14:8

“She has done what she could. She has come beforehand to anoint My body for burial.”
Mark 14:8
We know that Israel was supposed to be a nation "of priests" but became a nation "with priests".. simply put instead of everyone being a worthy priest of God only a select few were chosen because of constant transgression(sin) and were not able to approach God in the Holy temple
“being justified freely by His grace through the redemption that is in Christ Jesus, whom God set forth as a propitiation by His blood, through faith, to demonstrate His righteousness, because in His forbearance God had passed over the sins that were previously committed,”
Romans 3:24-25 ⬆️
Now that its all been connected see the significance of these things 🔥 if you made it this far, bless you! ❤️

“And wine that makes glad the heart of man, Oil to make his face shine, And bread which strengthens man’s heart.”
Psalms 104:15
“Therefore they shall come and sing in the height of Zion, Streaming to the goodness of the LORD — For wheat and new wine and oil, For the young of the flock and the herd; Their souls shall be like a well-watered garden, And they shall sorrow no more at all.”
Jeremiah 31:12
“The earth shall answer With grain, With new wine, And with oil; They shall answer Jezreel.”
Hosea 2:22
