If I remember correctly, Petain was told to and eventually promised to devote the French State to the Sacred Heart and add it to the flag. I think similar claims were maid that if it were included, the Vichy Government would not fall.
I wonder if that means that the outcome of ww2 would have changed on a massive scale or if the consecration happened early enough, that De Gaulle doesn't create Free France or if countries like the USA and Commonwealth (outside of Britain) continue to accept Vichy as legitimate
