EA won't learn to behave until the players speak with their wallets. They put the bare minimum into The Sims 4 and constantly let their customers down. Bugs, pointless promotional campaigns and brand deals make no sense when the fanbase constantly gives feedback against that.
But guess what? The Sims 4 is not the only Sims game that exists (

The Sims Complete Collection - It works on Windows 10, but you need to run it as Administrator. Mac version may be available for free (or on CD), but it will only work on Mac systems that support 32-bit apps (up to Mojave).

The Sims 2 - arguably the best Sims game. We all know about the lore, the details, the gameplay that this game came with. So why not play it? Why "miss it" when it's available? On Windows, you can download it for free. On Mac, it's available on App Store.

BuT tHe GrApHiCs... Let's face it, most people download CC for Sims 4 anyway. And Sims 2 has so much CC available from so many creators. There are mods that enable things we never thought would be possible in TS2. Almost the entire Sims 4 BB/CAS has been converted to TS2.
The Sims 3 - color wheel, open world, probably every single feature that Sims 4 players are still asking for after 6 years. What are you waiting for? It's available on Origin, Steam, and you can purchase CDs if you want. I made a whole ass Google Doc to help players fix the lag.
You fix the lag once, and that's it. No updates to break it again, no updating mods, etc. Want better graphics? CC and Sims 4 conversions are there. I'd rather download more FREE CC than pay for a new, useless Sims 4 pack. https://twitter.com/Crosimmer/status/1332121302212227072?s=20
If you're a Mac user, The Sims 3 (64-bit & Metal) is available on Origin. I don't have a Mac, and the players have had some issues when it first came out, but the game seems to work now. Enjoy!
And as the icing on a cake, you got The Sims spinoffs. More story based, with some unique features and quirks. Good if you want to take a break from the conventional Sims gameplay.

The Sims Medieval - The Sims but in a medieval setting. Pretty much self explanatory. I haven't played it much, but I remember having fun with it. The game and its expansion pack are available on CD or Origin. It's not 64-bit, so it doesn't work on macOS Catalina or macOS 11.
There you go - *7* (SEVEN!) Sims games that are not The Sims 4, and at least TWO of them better than that game with all the content that they have and The Sims 4 doesn't.

I truly want to love The Sims 4, and I want to enjoy it like some other players do, but EA doesn't care about that. The only thing they care about is the sales. So until they get their heads out of their asses, The Sims 4 will suffer and will NOT improve.
