When people ask my climate-fiction inspirations for writing DEPART, DEPART! I usually give fancy author names like Atwood & Powers, but I just realized that’s BS. Obviously my #1 inspiration for climate fiction writing is the GOAT, Hayao Miyazaki & all the Studio Ghibli movies.
