No amount of kale will prevent a car accident. No amount of quinoa will cure your cancer. You can't yoga your way out of a genetic condition like cystic fibrosis or sickle cell.

But apparently enough wealth and privilege can make you delusional.
Not quite sure why this story SO enraged me. It reminded me of a yoga instructor who said if everyone just did yoga there would be no cancer. Right after my dad (who did yoga daily) died of cancer. I didn't set foot in a yoga class for over a year. Goodbye #WholeFoods
And before people make a bunch of assumptions, I spend A LOT of my time counseling patients on healthy lifestyle change. As a primary care physician I believe empowering people to live their healthiest life is fundamental.
It is harmful AND FALSE to imply that if you just eat well and exercise you will never need access to medical care. Furthermore, until you address the barriers created by poverty, racism, misogyny, ablism, homophobia, transphobia, and systemic inequity to health, SIT DOWN
