I've been using Telegram heavily in the past couple of days and I've arrived at the only blatant conclusion.
It is decidedly better than WhatsApp by leaps and bounds.
I was asked to do a thread as to why, so here goes:

01. No stories
That's right. Telegram doesn't have those pesky, annoying stories.
So it feels like one thing. It's a messaging app and only that.
Somehow this makes it way less tedious to use over WhatsApp

02. Much better stickers
Telegram stickers are usually animated. The animations are 60FPS iirc.

05. Instant View and Better Video Previews
When you share an article on Telegram it pre-loads it and presents it automatically in a readable window.
Video previews don't come as floating pop ups instead they automatically gets positioned in a way that's not unobtrusive.
