People that think playing a front line of Puli-Tammy-CHO will solve our problems are utterly deluded
Lampard does a great job of exposing the weaknesses of everyone which is the opposite of what a good coach should do. Notice how only the all round players are playing well under Lampard? Only Pulisic, CHO, Chilwell and James. The rest who have one weakness or the other are
being left out to dry.
Kante is playing badly because he's asked to be great on the ball which he's anything but. Same with Zouma. Jorginho is being asked to press CB's despite lack of athleticism. Kovacic is being asked to be amazing offensively despite him being not. Many more examples of this.
Lampard is trying to buy as many all rounders as possible to cover up his weaknesses as a coach which is that he can't integrate and improve slightly limited players.
There are simple solutions to all this. Play James inverted to cover up for his lack of dribbling ability. Play Kante in a pivot next to someone comfortable on the ball so he's less involved in build up. Coach through ball triggers for Werner and play him central. Easy solutions
Coach build up patterns to minimize Zouma's weaknesses on the ball so he doesn't have to take an extra second on the ball. Protect #5 better so his defensive weaknesses aren't exposed. And stop making Havertz drop so deep(or play so deep) to cover up his lack of agility
These are simple things that top class coaches do. Lampard does absolutely nothing to not expose his player's weaknesses. This is the difference between him and top class coaches like Klopp and Hassenhuttl.
Some coaches take the 'improvement approach' by actually trying to eliminate these weaknesses (Bielsa, Pep etc), but Lampard doesn't do this either
Even Zidane who's a 'fraud' made Kroos drop deep during build up to cover up for Casemeiro's weakness. Lampard just isnt competent and it'll take a drastic improvement for him to keep his job
Aim of a coach is to make a player look good as possible by hiding their weaknesses while trying to minimize or eradicate while maximizing their strengths by giving them a role that does that. Look at Sterling's transformation as a prime example
