I couldn't sleep last night so I watched some of Siakam's pre-bubble play from last season and at a glance I think there are two major differences, one strategic and one that's either mental or physical
It feels like the team used to get him forward momentum more often - sets where they'd get him a catch on the move, screens set really high to get him a running start at the defense, actively looking for him in semi-transition so he can sniff out opportunities
And then in the halfcourt he was a lot more comfortable finishing through contact to the point where he'd actively seek it and would routinely punish smaller defenders in the post or on his drives. Now it feels like he's trying to finesse those buckets a bit more
This has resulted in more shots in the paint but not at the rim - pre-bubble he had almost twice as many attempts in the restricted area as he did in the paint(non-RA), in the bubble it was almost an even split and so far this season he has 50% more non-RA than RA attempts
He's still finishing well when he gets to the rim so the ability isn't gone, most of the decline in production can probably be attributed to a change in shot profile and a downswing on what will always be a pretty volatile three ball from him
