At some point we need to address the dissonance between the "OMG STOP TEXTING ME TO VOTE" and the "woot, record turnout!!!" reactions.
We know that the latter (record turnout) is in part *because* of the Get Out The Vote text efforts.

Please be polite to text-bankers. Reply "stop" or "remove me from your list" and they will do so. You may have to do this a few times since there are multiple campaigns going on each election.
But making text-bankers feel shitty because you're getting a few extra texts every day is a really disproportionate reaction when our democracy and lives are on the line.
I had a dozen people tell me they were going to vote Trump specifically to spite us for "texting too much" and that was very unpleasant.
But I had dozens MORE people who wanted to vote but didn't know how and needed my help.

Get Out The Vote efforts help disabled people who don't know how to get the accessibility they need. Abled people who don't need that outreach can just reply "stop" rather than gripe endlessly about an accessibility campaign.
