I have my Americano and with the egg whites on pumperknickle toast. So..need to have a quick chat about power. Specifically, voting power.
2020 opened the door to an entire new dynamic. A thread.

The voters in Georgia are deciding the fate of the Senate, after the state went blue for Biden. Blue. Georgia picked Biden. If that wasn't a big enough of a signal flare of change, not sure what is. Although..
Texas. Biden won 46.4 percent of the vote, the most since 1976, where Jimmy Carter won the state. People want to say that it's mostly anti-Trump voters. To me, that disrespects a fact that continue to become clear:
The South determines elections.
The South determines elections.
Granted, wins in MI,PA, and up here in WI went a long way, but if you look deeper, the seeds of a massive map flip began to grow last year.
Although this map is colored green, may as well call this the Black Belt, because it's been whooping ass lately. That dark area is going to make life uncomfortable for the GOP. They know it. Why do you think voting rights were gutted?
Stacey Abrams deserves high praise for turning Georgia into a battleground state. It's proof that this can happen all over the South. And it should, by focusing everywhere from @PurpleReign14 to @onedankmom to @lacadri34 , Democrats can change this.
Yet, there is a group that will hurt this. Actually, two. The unwashed way left and snobby Northeners that have smoke for the South but won't lift a goddamn finger to help. Let's split them in two.
The way left. These Defund the Police assholes are good about running their mouths and not introducing valuable legislation. They attempt to foist their deep blue district mentality on purple/red areas, at the cost of House seats. Dems lost a dozen.
The way left doesn't play in Searcy, AR or Jackson, MS. Those residents are less than two generations removed from cops and fire hoses. They deal with cemeted racism.
Now, the other category? Douchebags that always have something smart to say, but are liberal. Example
"Can we sell Kentucky, since they put McConnell in office?"
"Low information voters in SC"
Well, GFY. Here's why:

If you want to know how jacked up Kentucky politics are, ask a Kentuckian, do your homework. Dunking on them from your coffeeshop in Northern Beckyville just makes you a jerk. Wash your legs, maybe hair, too. Your thoughts could be clearer with a clean scalp
"low information voters" is a euphemism for "these Ns didn't vote for the candidate that I wanted, so they're dumb"
It's iron-fisted racism inside the proverbial iron glove. Relying on the cliche that Southerners, especially Black ones are dumb is lazy. And wrong.

It gets on my nerves to watch dumbass Northerners try to big brother/sister Southerners. Those folks deal with the GOP on a serious level. Imagine being a member of the LGBTQ community down South. From the outside, it looks like a struggle to live.
Imagine being a woman down South. Men, bible-thumping zealots in offices, telling you what you can/can't do with your body. Every day of your life is spent fighting for body autonomy.
Imagine being Black, with the weight of centuries of government-sanctioned racism hovering around you. Certain towns that you can't be in after dark, certain things you can't do. Some taint-nuzzling moron up North will never comprehend that.
Ossoff and Warnock could change the immediate dynamic of the US Senate today. The fact that Georgia played a monster role in this election cycle can't be underappreciated. Thank a Southerner. More importantly, lend a hand, where you can
