I know that parents are worried about home schooling. I'm not a parent so perhaps my opinion isn't welcome and if this doesn't help you, scroll on by and ignore ... but in case it does help anyone ...
You are a teacher. Regardless of your profession. Everyone is. You may not realise it, you may not do it on purpose, but every day someone learns something from you. Isn't that amazing? We all teach and learn every single day without even realising it.
There is more to education than "school". Stop panicking. You're OK. Your kids are OK. You're not going to ruin your child because you don't know how to teach them algebra or a split infinitive. This does NOT make you a failure.
Every day you teach them how to be the curious, resilient, capable, adaptable, wonderfully imperfectly perfect human being you are.
That's enough. Kids are sponges. They might struggle with something, and they might have a natural aptitude for other things, but they're always learning - in fact sometimes they're learning that they struggle with something and that is just as important as getting it "right"
If you're working from home at the same time that is TOUGH as hell and man do I respect and admire what you're doing right now. But remember, by doing this you are teaching your child that YOU are incredible and that therefore THEY can cope with anything life throws at them.
Remember how much you've already taught. You taught them how to walk. You taught them how to ride a bike. You taught them how to laugh and smile and cry and love and be grateful and be angry and be ... human.
You, the parent ... you're the greatest teacher there ever was. ❤
