You can be racist without realising it. And blackface is still racist even if your country's relationship with blackface is 'historically different to US'
You can also be racist (etc) without being a terrible evil person. And pointing out racism (etc) doesn't have to be trying to 'cancel' someone or starting a massive war over something. It can simply be 'this thing isn't right', let's acknowledge that.
I know the instinct to get defensive if it's you, or if it's one of your faves but, like... no ones perfect. And your faves can make mistakes like the rest of us. Part of social media is being able to have conversations who can shed light on other paths through life.
I think being a fan of something like a sport, a driver or a team should mean wanting them to be the best they can be. If they err, we should want them to be better, not lower our standards. I don't know.
I'm restricting tweets like this cause twitter is a nightmare atm. But I would prefer us to have normal convos about the problematic things that will of course continue to occur in things we love.
