This NYT piece has some very clear flaws in its description of Taiwan politically, economically, and that Singapore bit at the end is off. But, it makes some important points. I feel many of us were too fast to throw the baby out with the bathwater. https://www.nytimes.com/2021/01/02/world/asia/taiwan-coronavirus-health-minister.html?referringSource=articleShare&fbclid=IwAR0ISllBGcXzAcwWEfZTGm8H0sU8L2AtsghN7T49Pux38DoiPQECfd0vfz8
Obviously stuff like this is wrong and not great, we know Taiwan's economy has grown faster than anyone ever could have predicted even during non-pandemic times:
Point is: I think we (myself included) have a tendency to judge writings on Taiwan as binary good/bad and it often correlates to how positive/negative TW is framed. Bad and misinformed reporting should be called out, but pieces that make well-meaning critiques should be heard.
