Remote learning is obviously essential, but government has to be realistic about how much can actually be done (particularly in primary) when parents and carers are working, and that should be reflected in what is being asked of schools in 'enforcing' remote learning...
... because the guidance saying 'ambitious work' should be set that is 'of equivalent length to the core teaching pupils would receive in school' is a great aim, but schools need to be able to use their own discretion in how far they push to have that completed...
They know their families best, they know what is achievable, and they don't need an outside body - say an Ofsted - making judgements on remote work completion without that context.
