We should never ever accept 'white ally' to reduce the crime of colonialism and its impacts on our lives. You, sir, can speak anything about Museveni and his henchmen brutalising us but never ever apply such reductionist takes on colonialism! White supremacy is still here https://twitter.com/robertamsterdam/status/1346228706591846413
I hate it when Whites want us to erase our pain of generations by playing the next African dictator as a colonialist. He is an agent of colonialism that continues today to steal Africa's resources and promote militarism and makes such 'ruthless strong men" possible!
Please do the work of holding colonialists yesterday and today accountable, we refuse such takes that takes responsibility from white supremacy by simply dangling the pain of today in our eyes as solely the make of African dictators!
Colonialism is why we where we are by all means and even Museveni goes away, the work of dismantling white supremacy and imperialism remains here because the colonial complex quickly adjusts to the next leader we choose!
Don't intentionally conflate/equate a system that has long subjugated Black People of the world with dictatorship. We Africans are still fighting interlocking oppressions that have their foundations in imperialism and destruction of our continent and cultures by white supremacy!
I want Museveni gone but I also know he is largely here because imperialists support him against our will. They will publish statements of concern, fund elections but they are not interested in our choices as long as he serves their interests. It's dangerous to underlook that!
I seriously question any White person who nonchalantly types "colonialist" without much thought! We want change but not this whitewashing of our history and non-acknowledgement that colonialism continues to kill us with the help the despots!
For our people cheering at any show of support by a White man however skewed, please #decolonize your mind. That is not liberation, change is good but we want liberation!
