I’ve shared my story on Instagram and thought maybe I should share my experience of...

Bas Ekspress Tersekat Dalam Banjir here on Twitter ✨

#Thread
So me and my friend were on our way back to KL from KB. This is our picture moments before we got stuck in flood
Our bus successfully went through the first flooded road and then encountered a second flooded road which, we had to make a U-turn and take alternative road
With the confidence we had during our encounter with the first flooded road, our bus decided to go through it once again. And tada !!!!! We are suddenly floating gaissss 😂
The engine died and the driver tried to start it again but failed. First the a/c and lights were functioning, but then, pooooofff ! The whole bus ✨blacked out✨
As people started to stand and panic, the water floods the first deck of the bus. People from that deck went up to the second deck to save themselves from the flood
Lucky for us, Bomba showed up quickly to rescue us 😍 They were on standby at that place fortunately ! And lucky again for us, our bus drowned near a local masjid too ! So we have a place for shelter alhamdulillah 💕
Here I recorded the flood when we were escaping through the second deck emergency exit. Boats came to and fro the exit on a rescue boat to evacuate passengers to the mosque ✨
It’s called Masjid Jeram Besu and it also shelters not only us but also families stranded since 6pm, 3 January. Cars were parked at the mosque compound and the masjid is cut off of power supply 🥲
Initially we had a good 4G reception, but then they also switch off the cellular signal 🥲 around 3am, 4 January. Later our water supply 😂 How to cebok weh ?
We manage to contact our families and inform them so that they don’t worry. We settle and calm ourselves down in the mosque and tried to get some sleep. It was raining and it’s really cold but what to do kan 😂 Tidur je lah . Lucky I got my sweater
My feet was super cold and we were sleeping on the ceramic floor. At that moment rasa macam dalam rancangan Survivor . Tiber . Okay moving on
Wake up in the morning to this view of our bus 😅😍 The whole first deck is submerged ✨ And so is our luggages 😘
At almost 1 pm the water starts to settle a bit and people tried to tow out the bus but I guess they gave up and just wait for the water to settle (and hope it’s not gonna rain anytime soon) 😂
Of course we also had limited food to fill us through the day. Alhamdulillah lucky for us the people of Kampung Jeram Besu were tremendously kind and welcoming 🥺😍

They cook food together and send them to the masjid for us ✨the stranded people ✨
Here’s my lunch! This meal means the world !!!! Thank you !

I think this is the 4th batch of food they sent. We had to prioritize the food for older people, babies, children and families. At this time, we only had each other after all kan ? 💕
At around 4 pm, as the water level is safe-level is around our calf, our luggages is safe for retrieval ! ✨😍
Here are the retrieved items of mine ! Nak menangis ada, nak gelak pun ada 😂🥺😭 Paling tragis baju & seluar putih lah kan 😂
Hanya mampu tersenyum je 🥲
Oh and why I had to put on kain pelikat is because my only pants are koyak kat punggung and others are soaked 🥲🥲
So after sometime, the water settles (at least at this side of the road). There’s a bus waiting for us at the other side of the second flooded road (i mentioned before) . So happy and so excited to be going home 😍
The locals already cooked food for our journey home ! See ? So kind right ?? So we gonna help them to pack 💕
Thank you Makcik Melor and the team for the food, kindness and hospitality ✨ Such kind hearts we have here 💕
Almost forgot ! Here’s a video of the luggages being retrieved ✨
So after we packed our food, we went off to the crossing point, or Inwould like to call ‘jetty’ to cross to the other side of the flood where our new bus is waiting. Yup ! Going home in kain pelikat ya’ll 💕😂
Finally after 3-4km , we arrived at the flooded road for crossing ! Boats are waiting and there are so many members of local authorities and local people there ✨ #MalaysiansUnite
A selfie with local authorities wont hurt 😘 Thank you for the help ! ✨
Here’s a video of our crossing . Quite deep lah the flood no joke
After we reached the other side, we were transported to our bus on a police truck. Feeling2 criminal lah jugak masatu 😂 A selfie with abang2 from Ekspres Perdana 💕
Yeay , lets go home shall we ?
We were escorted to Raub to have some dinner in Raub before our trip back to KL ✨
Having our dinner at a closed restaurant 😂 We had sponsored Nasi Goreng and luckily we brought Pucuk Paku Masak Lemak and Telur Dadar with us 💕 Thank you people of Kampung Jeram Besu 😘
After that we continue our journey to KL and safely arrived in TBS with mu kain pelikat still intacted at almost 11pm, 4th January ✨ It was one special experience indeed
Special thanks to my travel buddy @afnan_zainal, local people, local authorities and everyone who has been praying for our safety and well being 💕 May Allah bless you ✨
Things that I learned:

1) When things gets hard, don’t panic and smile through it. Be positive, think, act and make A LOT of dua 🙏🏻

2) We cannot live alone, we always gonna need each other. So always be kind to others 💕

3) Be grateful for what you have rn always 👌🏻
4) Our plan isn’t always gonna work. There’s always gonna be obstacles. Allah is the best planner, so pray to him 🙏🏻

5) Patience is key ✨ Not knowing what’s gonna happen to us really tests us. So be patient and good things will come 😘
