This is the most privileged, ableist bullshit I have heard in a while

I wish I could say I wonder what it’s like to be so out of touch you think people should stay in hotels next door to Whole Foods stores to better their health but I don’t have to wonder https://www.cnbc.com/2019/08/14/inside-whole-foods-ceo-john-mackeys-health-and-fitness-routine.html https://twitter.com/CNBC/status/1346105372579397634
I work 12 hour shifts in the ER, so I literally have to drink water and eat snacks or I will end up with kidney disease and probably underperforming for my patients.
Why do major outlets give platforms to these Marie Antoinette-esque figures (honestly she is a more likable figure) who fancy themselves to be “dIsRuPtOrS” when they are just overprivileged jerks spewing unfiltered verbal diarrhea with no regard for anyone besides themselves?
Eating healthy is great. There are benefits (health, ecological, environmental) to increased plant content in our diets. Shaming people for health conditions, which most likely have no basis in diet (or in the case they do then diet is likely secondary to other issues) is wrong.
Also, and this is only my personal opinion and not evidence based, life is too short to *never* eat dessert “except for an occasional medjool date.” Having flan or ice cream or strawberry shortcake or even cheesecake once in a while (once in a while!) isn’t the root of disease.
As always, please talk to your doctor before you enjoy a single medjool date or - god forbid - something more scandalous, like an after dinner mint.

Please don’t talk to anyone at Whole Foods - which notably sells dangerous and scammy supplements, too - about your healthcare.
