In the 20th century and on, the greatest crimes were committed by those who were previously oppressed, then found an opportunity to oppress others. Germany was weak in relation to other European powers, then rose, then committed atrocities. Same with Japan.
One could say the same with 21st C China, or Israel to a lesser degree. The oppression they suffered gave them a false conviction that their actions were not crimes.

Some day, the same bill will come due for Korea as well.
Those bills have been accumulating for Korea for quite some time. Korea's discrimination against the Chinese is one of them. Korea's participation in the Vietnam War, another. Vile racism against mixed heritage children, still another. They will all come due.
I'm just hoping that when that time comes, Koreans are more willing than not to see the wrongs their country committed, and not make excuses about them or drag their feet in acknowledging them.
