It turns out that right wingers actually hate Democracy and Christianity.

Wait till they hear about the beatitudes from the Sermon on the Mount. https://twitter.com/jessekellydc/status/1345791579945132036
To clarify. The overriding goal for authoritarian groups around the world is merely to uphold an existing power structure. The nature of that power structure is secondary to this ultimate goal. You see this is nationalist movements around the world.
The most important priority is the maintenance of a social hierarchy based on the majority groups and their claim of legitimacy. So it matters less if the religious group is Christian, or Muslim, or Hindu or Buddhist. They just need to be the dominant social group.
The same is true of other social identity groups as well. Here is the U.S. we have a strong white identity group that places a high priority on "whiteness" as a legitimizing identity. Identity is primary in determining who is legitimate and who has a right to power.
Trumpism is a social identity movement based on maintaining the legitimacy of the dominant social groups in the U.S. so "being a Christian" is ultimately more important than adhering to the teachings of Jesus. Christian identity is a way to assert social dominance.
It's inconvenient that the actual teachings of Jesus are incompatible with the raw exercise of power for the purpose of asserting social dominance, especially through the violence that the right craves.
The widespread adoption of the actual teachings of Jesus would have a tempering effect on these violent identity groups. "Turning the other cheek" and "loving your neighbor as yourself" is incompatible with the violent suppression of minority social groups.
Anyone who is actively trying to adhere to the teachings of Jesus will naturally find Trumpism abhorrent.

Needless to say Trumpism is also anti-democratic, but that is for another discussion.
