Some social data I've been looking at lately [a thread]

The first 2 photos are of Instagram data & the other 2 photos represent some thoughts via Google Analytics.

[1/1]
The 1st photo is simple but represents the difference in quantity vs. quality.

We made a conscious effort to decrease the # of posts per day (generally no more than 2) in '17; consistently post at 9 AM/9 PM - based on content - & used carousel a lot once it was developed.

[2/2]
2nd photo is about overall IG data back to the '18-19 acad. year vs. all D3 schools

Main goal is to have an interaction rate (IR%) above 7% each month so that we sit above 7 for the year.

Our strategy (+ consistent/well-curated posts) has put us in the top-3 since 16-17.

[3/3]
Along w/ the numbers ⬆️, EC has finished 3rd in all of N.E. among all NCAA Divisions' main accounts behind UConn & BC.

D3 schools that stand out, IMO ( data + quality content):
Norwich
Springfield
Puget Sound
CGA
Rowan
Middlebury
Bethel
St. Olaf
Cortland
Centre

More thoughts on the above posts:

1) Wish the data tracked shares & saves
2) Curious how our "From Explore" numbers compare to others
3) Would 💙💚 to see comparisons for impressions/reach vs. others
4) Don't care about followers/follower growth if they don't interact

[5/5]
Figured the mobile vs. desktop data would be high but not a near 70/30 split, so we thought about the design of our mobile site a little more.

The changes we made were simple like these easily seen sections for "Sports" | "Recruiting Process" | "Watch"

[6/6, cont.]
We did this because those three sections were the most visited pages of our website, either on mobile and/or desktop, based on the GA data.

We are hoping the mobile traffic data to these pages will increase over time with its visibility.

Other thoughts/strategies:

1) Our photographers are exceptional so we stick w/ that over video as much as possible
2) Good storytelling is good storytelling no matter how you slice it; some of the stories we have put out on S-As lately prove that

[8/8]
3) The more I dive deeper into the SID/social field the more I'm concerned about helping others advance
4) Continue to learn even when you don't think you should
5) Publicize your school's separator; for us it's internships, find what stands out for you & drive it 🏠
