I continue to lament that while Yugioh card design lends itself extremely well to games with them not about card battles, old games like Falsebound Kingdom proved this, we will never see such a game again. Experimentation with the franchise is basically over.
For over a decade they have refused to do anything with the card game in the video-game space that is not expensive subpar duel simulators, freemium duel simulators with slightly altered rulesets, or fucking pachinko machines
You know what? MtG suffers from this issue too. While thier card design may not lend itself to video games so easily, they have better lore that could really work towards a good one. They were working on an MtG diablolike for years that sounded cool but then they cancelled it
I want cool CCG spinoff video games, damnit!
