Went for a walk at lunch today and came across several new examples of downtown fading into darkness.

This large and prominent barber shop has suddenly been gutted.
An entirely empty building for sale.
A shop that isn’t closing, is moving to the suburbs.
A company downsizing its office space.
A once popular restaurant closed forever early in the pandemic.
Another prominent empty ground floor space.
This great little coffee shop opened last year and closed when the first wave hit. It hasn’t reopened since. How many of these types of places won’t have survived?
Several long standing downtown businesses are for sale.
This could be part of the future for downtown. An office building being redeveloped into a nice mixed-use residential and commercial project.
