My Indie App Launches Tomorrow!

So let's talk PRICING!

A 🧵!

👇
I am pricing my app for $4.99, which is basically suicide for apps nowadays to be paid upfront with no free trial.

We are almost just assuming an app will be free trial + subscription or free trial + IAP, so why am I basically doing the harder path?
Well, my app is literally it's V1, this is the simplest it will ever be and I wanted the price to reflect that

There isn't really a clear cut "free" version I can offer of it yet, and personally, I think it provides too much value to be free

So what is my plan then?
My pricing will progress in stages, just as the app progresses:

Stage 1: Launch
This launches the basic features and provides the BEST DEAL for users to take a chance on a new app that will continuously update for only $4.99, literally just a cup of coffee
Stage 2: Intermediate
The app now has started implementing some new features, requested and planned, that give users, even more, control and customization, which will still be at a very low steal of

$7.99
Stage 3: Mature
This is what I hope to get to over the next ~6-8 months where the app is really maturing in its user base, target audience, and functions

This stage is the final stage before the product becomes a 'business' and will still be ONLY $9.99
Lastly, once your product has matured, implements advanced features, spot-on ASO, ads, and really delivers a complete experience for its users I think the app transitions into the business stage where it's about growth + sustainability
I will start implementing a Free Trial (with just the basic features) and have a paid plan for users that want/ need all the functionality and advancements implemented over the months of growing/ user feedback

$19.99/yr
(previous purchasers won't have to pay this)
This is my thought process and the pricing plan I have now, the night before the launch

Will it work? Idk

Will I stick to it? Idk

Will users hate me for PUF? Idk

Will users even try it for $4.99? Idk

BUT I AM EXCITED AF TO FIND OUT! 🚀
