Are you really practicing witchcraft or are you just an edgy new ager?
I will always firmly be team "words have meaning." Witchcraft is inherently a fluid craft, but that doesn't mean that it is so nebulous that we can't point to commonalities that exist within all witches' practices.
There's a reason why we feel so strongly about the words witch & witchcraft, why they sing to our spirits & echo in our bones. There's a reason why we feel kinship with other witches & their words, why we can recognize similarity of experience despite never having met.
It's because there are firm things that define witchcraft, that distinguish it from the numerous other magickal systems out there. Those commonalities of practice create similarity in results. Those results manifest in our perspective, in the way we move through the world.
And those results do not manifest in other magickal systems. Why? Because those systems have different goals, different contexts, different ritual technology, different baseline assumptions from which they act. Those difference are defining.
