How to absolutely crush your fitness goals this year.

1. You can't outwork a bad diet. Yes eating healthier could cost a bit more but medical bills from years eating crappy food cost a lot more.
2. Your health compounds the same way your money does. The more effort and time you put in, the more you get back.
3. Restrictive diets are ticking time bombs and create bad relationship with food. A diet should be sustainable and fit your lifestyle as much as possible.
4. If you never take a rest day, your body will eventually pick a day for you. Normalize taking days off and having 8 hours of sleep.
5. Track your calories. Tracking your calories brings awareness to the composition of your meals and your portions. After some period of time you'll know exactly what 2000 calories looks like or what 30g of protein looks like, etc.
6. Once you get good at tracking your calories, you want to eventually move on to eating intuitively. This should be end goal.
7. It's easy to confuse a lack of water with hunger. The next time you're hungry, drink a glass of water first. If you still feel hungry, then you know your body is really asking for food.
8. Avoid liquid calories, most of them aren't nutrient tense nor do they satisfy your hunger.
9. Seeing the weight on the scale go down is cool but can also be misleading. Whipping out some measuring tape and taking your measurements, dexa scans or blood work are things you can do alongside stepping on the scale. Remember if you're not assessing you're guessing.
