While 2020 was a tyre fire in more ways than we expected......it still felt like #indiecomics were continuing to take the progressive steps they had been making in the last few years. My Kickstarter backing continued (albeit more digital) and their arrival kept me going... 1/4
....but the quality of those books blew me away at every page turn.Kudos to every writer, artist, colourist, letterer, designer, editor & publisher that kept the creative process trucking on. For many an escape and for others a necessity to keep their mental health in check.. 2/4
As a fan & reviewer I've really missed the regular catch-ups with creators & friends at the many Comic Cons that evaporated from the calendar as lockdown kicked in. While I've no idea what 2021 will hold.....I'm still just as eager to read & review what I can as time permits. 3/4
Highs & lows will continue but the collective mood of the indie comic scene seems more inclusive than ever which broadens my reading,my exposure to new creators and my awe at the titles on offer. Here's hoping 2021 sees more comics being created and more good times for us all.4/4
