I don't think it's a coincidence to see the Crimean War image of Wonder Woman today.
We know that she is the one that severs the head of Steppenwolf in #ZSJL.
The Crimean War image shows her with three in hand.
This is the continuity to which the Boss is tending.

Think about it:
While we were introduced to Zack Snyder's Wonder Woman in #BvS, we have only seen that much on his take, even after over 4 years.

This isn't the first time we see such significant changes in blockbuster movies; just look at the infamous Star Wars "Who shot first?" history to see what I mean (and using the updated Darth Sidious design), among the countless others.
That is the point of these remasters: the goal is to make retrospective adjustments to certain elements of a work in order to achieve a higher level of internal cohesiveness.
It goes without saying that's what the Boss is doing too, considering #BvS is less than 5 years old!
