#Conservatives are really good at marketing. The phrases 'pro-life', 'family values', and 'free markets' all sound prima facie good, but have been co-opted for malicious ends.
1/
#ProLife typically means anti-abortion, but should it not (also) include being against #PoliceBrutality, war, oppressive governments, and the #DeathPenalty, while supporting universal #healthcare?
2/
Family values is synonymous with a rejection of same-sex couples and #LGBTQ rights, but should it not include paid parental leave and childcare, looking after the elderly, and high quality #education for children?
3/
Calling for free markets typically reflects an aversion to #taxes and government regulation, but it ought to imply support for small and #localbusiness, rejection of corporate influence, and free participation in #economic and #political life for every citizen.
4/
Regular people usually support these values, if not these policies, but are lead astray by rhetoric. If you truly are pro-life, and support family values and free markets, the real consequences are not what you've been told.
