Brian Kemp and the GA GOP had all the same power in 2020 that they did in 2018, yet one year they supposedly rigged the election one direction and the other year the other direction. Poor Kemp.
Georgia's electoral system has plenty of issues, for one they don't allow ex-felons to vote. Second, it's first past the post. It should be proportional, that would deal with gerrymandering and allow minor parties to compete. But when you lose, you lose.
If you think the system is unfair I think it's fair to advocate for reforms for future elections, but provided all the laws were followed, and they were, Kemp won in 2018 and Biden won in 2020.
I ask the same question of my Dem friends as I do my GOP friends: So Brian Kemp had the secret STEAL THE ELECTION button in 2018, but not in 2020? Or is it the reverse? https://twitter.com/TheEorlkonig/status/1346215811606867972
Reality is in 2018 and 2020 Georgia had great turnout across demographics, very few people had voting problems, certainly not enough to match the margin of victory. Yes voter fraud and voter inability to vote are issues, but they're also quantifiable.
Every now and then my state of birth is in the headlines so I have to say, Georgia did a pretty decent job administering elections in 2018 and 2020. Both Democrats and Republicans trying to tar Georgia were off base doing it for self-interested political reasons.
Sorry: Georgia does let some ex-felons vote. Rules are here: https://www.gjp.org/voting/
Well shes not the incumbent so it had no practical effect. But as far as I'm aware, not a single Democratic official anywhere in America has said something as simple as, "She should concede and advocate for any reforms to voting laws in Georgia she wants." https://twitter.com/TheLarrySwetman/status/1346215054597885952
There's a lot of people on this website who are only interested in the question of arguing that their political party is better than the other one. And fair enough if you're a partisan you obviously believe that. But always easy to point finger at other side and ignore your own..
