Thank you, @JimGoldgeier and @BtGProjectDC for all of your amazing work and support for RIPIL. Let me take this opportunity to give a brief update on our work. 1/ https://twitter.com/JimGoldgeier/status/1346130746092761092
We received a generous grant from @HumanityUnited for pilot research on the Changing Nature of Aid in response to COVID-19 and the racial justice movement. I’m thrilled to work with RIPIL Research Fellow, @cobrienudry, and RAs @shagunrgupta and @AmandaLauIR to get this going. 2/
Part of our research on the Changing Nature of Aid will focus on the role of non-state actors in delivering aid and facilitating its delivery. Excited that @BreslawskiJori and @HilaryMatfess will lead our work in this area. 3/
We also just established our first research partnership with the UN Peacebuilding Fund to study its aid to Burundi. Managed to pull together the "dream team" for this one: @yolandebouka and RIPIL Research Fellow, @travisbcurtice! 4/
Excited to continue working with the amazing @jessicabraith on our project on Networks of Influence and Support between War and Peace. Grateful for the financial support of @FBAFolke and @kpsrl_ and fantastic RAs: @Hatemmozayed, @James_Bryan7, @alexbruens. 5/
We will study the influence of rule-breaking and rule-bending bureaucrats on the success and failure of international aid agencies, with @kateweaverUT and her pathbreaking @InnovationsPD. 6/
RIPIL Research Fellow, @KGPetrich, is leading fascinating new research on 'Grey Zone' Challenges: Mapping the Relationship between Governance, Development, and Conflict. 7/
To make this feasible, @MashalShabbir is joining RIPIL as the new Research Manager and we are launching new partnerships with @hjswedlund and a range of other excellent scholars and organizations. 8/8
