While I agree that 99% of Smash players are fucking terrible coaches, this ignores the fact that the best coaches in any sport aren't even that great of a player themself, and in reverse the good players aren't good coaches.

You can't be a good coach without being at least a mid-high level player, but being a good player also doesn't automatically make you a good coach.

Also there's different levels of being a good coach. Some people are better at coaching beginners, some are better with high level

If you can't get top 8 at your locals (unless you have super stacked locals in which case that extends to top 16/24 depending on region), you can't be a good coach. But if you can still be a better coach than you are player. Most ppl gotta earn their right as a coach tho.
