Regarding Megan McCain, she was raised by parents who said the world is one way, was only socialized w/ppl who tell you the world is that way, & restricted in education to ppl who say the world is that way. Now, she sees IT'S NOT....& is mocked for not seeing it earlier?

...childhood, worldview, set of trusted authority figures, myths, archetypes, habits, & thought processes were BUILT ON A LIE....before it affected her.

Even worse, we all know how often *pro-family* conservatives are caught having abortions, forcing abortions, on Grindr while opposing LGBTQ rights, taking govt handouts, etc.
She COULD have seen this problem, reveled in her own privilege, & kept making $$$ w/conservative ideas.

Megan McCain is LITERALLY our best-case-scenario for how we want our discussions with conservatives to go! "Wow, I see it, I was wrong, this is wrong--I experienced it, & other people shouldn't have to go through that."
Finally, don't forget the power of the conservative media bubble! When you are raised INSIDE it, it's impossible to see regular media as trustworthy. A report by a Democrat or CNN or (God forbid) MSNBC isn't examined & discarded. It's automatically rejected before examining it.
If you're raised in a space ship, & told, "Everything outside is a vacuum, & you'll die if you go outside," you won't try to go outside!

When a conservative crosses over from this, to sanity & reality, please realize what they're doing: they're going up to the hull of the space ship they've been raised in ALL THEIR LIVES, they're looking outside at what they were taught would DESTROY THEM, & they open the hatch.
