the suppression of the divine feminine, the erasure of divine duality, and the demonization of yin. a very long thread
the polarity of yin and yang symbolizes our innate duality and thus, the duality of existence. the original symbol we all recognize as yin/yang is called âtaijitu,â developed from ancient chinese philosophy the concept is applied in everything from spirituality to medicine
other asian cultures also adopted this idea and have varying interpretations on the matter, but overall it is conceptualized as the cycle of life. yin and yang are believed to be born from the âchaos of creationâ that can only exist in total harmony with one another
they come to createâqiâ or ones vital energy, the fabric our life force, how we are able to think, feel, create, destroy, wake, sleep. ideally, the qi interact to create âheâ (harmony)
yin energy is comprised of our deepest passions and darkest desires, it is the epitome of human consciousness. introspection, reflection, and selection. but its where we feel pain, this is why darkness can be associated with fear and suspense, but also calm and solitude
yang energy is the opposite, instead of focusing on scarcity and delving internally, yang projects outwards, it focuses on abundance and multiplication. it is logical and straightforward, and how we function amongst ourselves âagreeablyâ
this can be contradicting to our internalized perceptions of gender. because we seem them as distinct polarities, when they are nothing of the sort. as you can see, there are some similarities and some differences here
though its not the energy thats different, but how that energy is interpreted. we can see passivity as an overall negative trait, as much as we can see a ball as an overall negative ball, the context matters. both energies share the core charges of existence
venus, (being yin) in all astrological systems represents women, modernly the planet resembles basic love, relationships and pleasure. however theres a side of venus thats only recently gained traction, that is, the burning chamber of insatiable desire it really can be
venus is inherently yin, but every planet has an yin and yang expression.
in latin, the original word for venus was âluciferâ which translates to âthe morning starâ which are both common references to the infamous âfallen angel,â Satan. All in all cultural depictions of Satan centre around the seven deadly sins
lucifer also translates to âlight bearerâ the natural polarity to light bearer, which restricts and hordes the energy of yang, is bearer of darkness, coldness, and wetness, aka . the âwater bearerâ. this dynamic is demonstrated between the Leo-Aquarius axis.
because there was no brighter or more beautiful star before he fell and tried to take over the world. notice the parallels to Venus. but the concepts of light and beauty!? arent those âgoodâ âyangâ traits??? the lines become more and more blurred
heres where things start to get really confusing. Jesus also calls himself the âthe bright morning starâ in Revelations, many interpret this as a simple mistranslation or confusion. but as stated before, yin is generated from yang and yang is generated from yin. they are both one
virgin Mary is depicted in this way most often, wearing a star beneath a knifestruck heart and a flower growing out of its flames. this is the epitome of Venus. shes quite literally the bearer or light when she gives birth to the âsonâ like Virgo retracts back to Leo, the âsunâ
Satan was the serpent who deceived Eve into eating the forbidden fruit, the tantalizing and unhinged energy of Venus. yet later in the scriptures, Jesus is symbolized through a serpent on the cross
the flowing energy of yin against the rigid energy of yang produced creation, evolution. this is why the ankh is seen as a natural balance of these two energies, while christianity abandons the divine feminine entirely
the serpent also refers to our kundalini energy, that is the latent and still energy of the divine feminine, or yin, that lays at the base of the spine, or root chakra. to awaken this, we need yang, light and warmth, much like you wake up a snake. this is âawakeningâ embodied
this is why some roman gnostic christians worhsipped the devil, they believed everything had core duality, including God. God is perceived as the source of light and darkness, and we need âqiâ yin and yang, to reach heaven or kundalini awakening
renowned scholar Immamuel Velikovsky, took note of how the repeated destruction of civilizations cultivated greater confusion between the malefics and their core energies. this pertains to our modern concept of the intersection of love and war,
now mars is more associated with war and venus is love again. more recently the definitions of these planets are widely debated, though id argue that they both inherently posses both yin and yang energy. hot but corrosive, light but destructive, powerful but impressionable
the ethical compass applied to concept of yin and yang is harmful and heres another great example. can we apply these terms to race respectively? sure, some cultures are more matriarchal and some are more patriarchal. but when you start to use it to defend eugenics and sexism
thats when i have an issue. because that is so far from the original purpose of the concept. energies are. they are not âgoodâ and they are not âbadâ they are and WE colour and interpret them with our consciousness.
