The discourse is intense and I don't want to contribute to it any further so here are my last thoughts. I think the backlash the squad is facing right now is necessary, but I haven't given up on them completely. I hope now they see that people are done fucking around.
Going forward I expect better from them, and I'd like to see them put up an actual fight next time. There will be other opportunities to #ForceTheVote and I hope that the criticism they're facing now opens their eyes to how imperative it is for us to see them fighting back.
The #FraudSquad tweets may seem harsh, and some of them are, but most are expressing necessary criticism, and disappointment that people are allowed to feel right now in the face of everything going on around us.
I know the Left can move forward from this. We may seem fractured, but to me, we are evolving. The level of shit we are willing to take is shrinking. We are ready and willing to hold our politicians accountable even though we may not agree on how to do it. We can do better.
A lot of the anger is justified. I may not agree with those canceling the squad, and I don't agree with every insult hurled their way, but damn I can feel the frustration and I understand it. It's not helpful to chalk up all that anger to Leftist "infighting" in my opinion.
We will evolve from this, and we will come out stronger. Things are unorganized right now, and there is *some* unnecessary infighting, but what's happening right now will not defeat this movement. The policies we stand for are worth fighting for and we must not let this stop us.
