🚨Me shouting about 'zero rating' again (that's tech for 'no data charges for using education websites')🚨 @Ofcom reckon 1m kids do remote ed via mobile, 20% of households are struggling to pay for the data and 5% are cutting back on food and clothes to pay it. This is not ok
I grew up getting my gas and electric through a meter. We paid more per unit than wealthier families on direct debit. We're adding data for education to this list of utilities where poor families pay a premium. Sometimes a hefty premium.
To be clear there has been lots of goodwill here. @VodafoneUK sim offer is great (my school has benefitted) but if schools close tonight we need to go further, and quickly. Zero rating is the only universal, simple solution.
It's technically difficult. But we think our wonderful partners at @MuxHQ have figured it out. And if they work with the lovely folks at @VodafoneUK @ThreeUK @EE @O2 we can get this over the line pronto.
