The Roadmap: Part 2 (Only 8 tweets. 😉)

1. Brexit has taught something important, and it may not be what you think.

Brexit has created an opportunity, and again, it may not be what you think.
2. There is no question those who voted for Brexit voted for change. The desire for change was exploited by the Far Right and focused in a direction that suited them. They sold a lie, well several. And they promised benefits.
3. The important thing Brexit has taught us is that the British people are not afraid of voting for serious constitutional change (even if they do not see it in those terms), when they are dissatisfied. There is an appetite for change.
4. While it might seem that Brexit satisfies that appetite for change, that may not last. Remember Brenda from Bristol? Remember the people who believed that we had left the EU immediately after the referendum vote?
5. A large part of the brexit constituency expects politicians to deliver immediate results. The complexities of delivering change at this level are not something they accept.
6. That is one of the major weaknesses of the brexit plan. However you look at it, brexit purports to be able to deliver massive economic change within a very short timescale.
7. If the brexit constituency either loses faith and loses interest, or begins to develop an appetite for further change, that is not good news for the architects of brexit.
8. The opportunity brexit has created that now presents itself, is to feed the appetite for change, and to channel it into more positive change. This is the time to storm the Citadel.
