Step 1 - Re-read the JD
You just applied to 100s of jobs, I promise you, you don't remember the full JD. Go back and look at it again.
Now, pull out the bullet points. Create a strengths and weaknesses chart and place the bullet points in them.

Step 2 - Review the company
This is the research phase. Start looking into the company's products more. Read the mission and vision statements.
Read their blog. Watch a couple videos.
Gather as much information as you can so you can understand how to present yourself. (3/n)

Step 3a - Develop a pitch
Using your past experiences, it's time to develop a pitch. Use the STAR method to organize your pitch.
Make sure your pitch is relevant to the job. This isn't the time to describe everything you've done in your life. Stay on topic. (4/n)

Using strengths and weaknesses chart, refine your pitch. Make sure you highlight how your experiences feed into your strengths that are mentioned in the JD.

Step 4 - Find a partner and practice
Recite your pitch to a mentor or someone who is experienced at interviewing.
Have them brainstorm and ask you practice questions related to the role and company. (6/n)

Step 5 - Develop your list of interview questions
9/10, the interviewer will leave time for questions. Come prepared!
Ask the tough questions related to DEI, finances, remote work, team interactions, etc. Ask the interviewer about their experiences. (7/n)

Step 6 - Journal your interview experience
Make sure you write down how you felt before, during, and after the interview stage.
