I interacted with 100+ students in the past week, all of them from class 11/Science. Here are some observations :

1. 80% of students have never heard of Employment News.

2. They want to go for exactly 4 career choices - not a single student had any other choice.

3. Except the defence aspirants, none of the students have ever seen a past question paper of the exam they are trying to crack. Most of them doesn't even know the format of the exams - time/type of questions/eligibility etc.
4. They think that you will have to score 90%+ marks in entrance examinations to get admitted in engineering/medical.
5. They think that 25% of the total population in India/Assam are employed by the government. The guess started from 60%.
6. Everyone has Facebook/WhatsApp/Instagram, but nobody has ever searched about the exams they are supposed to crack in a year. I specifically asked this.
7. Stunningly they are not at all aware about any other career choices, except the very common ones such as banking officer or TET teachers.
8. None of them were aware about any central institutions except IITs + NITs.
