It fucking sucks that I'll never have enough vocabulary to express how grateful I am for this masterpiece. It'll never be enough to how much this story means to me, I'll never be able to put it in words. I was already in love with how FMA:B presented the story but to think that
it's manga even topped it is simply mind-blowing. The plotting & characterization were better in the manga whereas the anime rearranged events to make it more "shonen-like" and lose the special charm which FMA manga has.
FMA artstyle might appear to be cartoonish but it's used to the fullest with creative panelling & the clean look of her art. It's actually crazy how she had an established artstyle from the very start, whereas other mangas have rough art early on which only improves later on
Since we're talking about art. Yall already now there's an abundance of color pages from the very start to the end & how much I love them, the art & color scheme is always immaculate.
Another thing I adore about FMA are the volume covers. They might appear to be simple but it has a classy feel to it. Also the details put in it are just fantastic.
Another thing about the volumes are these (I don't know what to refer it as). But I love the 3D feel of it (even tho I read online lmfao) at the start of every volume.
Even though I prefer the fights in the anime it's surprising how the manga flows for it. (Wrath Supremacy btw)
The cast is honestly some of the best in the medium with the best characterization & conclusions. The anime butchers some of the characters but after reading the manga, it has made me appreciate & love the characters alot more than before.
The plotting is mad genius in FMA. Which I think people don't much talk thanks to the reboot narrating it to cater audience at the cost of taking away the mystery element of the series.
But the thing that made me so invested in FMA aren't the things I've mentioned so far, they add to the overall experience but my most favorite part about FMA is definitely the theme exploration & message.
Fullmetal Alchemist is a special story to me and I've had my best experience in both the mediums thanks to this masterpiece. I love how it's not only well written plot-wise but also hits you in feels bc of how great the cast is. All that in such a small amount of time.
FMA:B is my third favorite anime series & the manga is Top 1 for me.
