Fortunately, after much prayers and visit to a gynecologist, they were blessed with a beautiful baby girl Ayomide.
Ayomide, a charming & lovely child celebrated her 2yr Old birthday & was showered with lots of cakes, lollipop, candies & ice creams.
Around 2a.m, Ayo started...

...screaming & holding her tummy, her mum ran to her
Ayomide! Ki lo de? Ah! Baba Ayo, the mother shouted in confusion.
Ayo, a little child could not effectively communicate what is happening to her. In no time she started stooling and vomiting.

They rushed to the pharmacy that morning
What's the problem, the pharmacist asked?
Mrs Adigun narrated what happened
Pharm: how many times has she stooled since last night till morning?
It's upto 7-8time and it's all watery, she vomited at intervals said Mrs Adigun

Pharm: She must have suffered diarrhea secondary to lactose intolerance from the cake icing, candies & all she ate
What have you given her since then? Pharm asked
I gave palm oil,my neighbor said it will calm her tummy & I should massage her with shear butter replied Mrs Adigun

She has lost a lot of electrolyte as a result of excess stooling&vomiting. She is pale, fatigue & jerking like a child that will convulse soon, plz kindly visit the pediatric clinic at Woji Estate, she needs to be infused ringers lactate & other Lab test done ASAP, said the Pharm
On their way out, the Pharmacist dispensed
• Oral Rehydration Solution (ORS)
• Tab Zinc
A week later, Mrs Adigun came by the Pharmacy to get some prescribed medications for Ayomide.
How is Ayomide the Pharmacist asked?
She is recuperating gradually, she was later diagnosed..

However, incase of future occurrence, you can do a homemade ORT by following these simple steps
• Wash hands with clean water
• Add 5 glass cups of water (approx 200mL)

• Add 6 level spoon full of sugar
• Add one half level spoon full of salt
• Stirr until the sugar dissolves completely and
• Give your child to drink slowly before gaining access to your Pharmacist or any other HCP
