- This 1.8% receives 10,000 Crs subsidy from the centre. [Punjab receives about 12,000 Crs Fertiliser subsidy, borne by centre. 80% of which, nearly 10,000 Crs, go to the 1.8%]

Which means that is also a subsidy Indian Govt has paid to that 1.8% cos they are the only ones who can sell to APMCs. It's a different issue that they buy from others and sell to Govt at 40% plus markup.

- Less than 10% of TOTAL agricultural output of the country is sold at MSP. That means, more than 90% of Farmers don't sell by MSP. More than 90% of the produce of the 1.8% is sold at MSP & they make up major portion of the 10% sold.

- Punjab is one of the most indebted states, cos it has no industries and has only subsidies. Most of the money Punjab spends, paid by Indian Taxpayers, go towards facilitating the lives of THESE 1.8%.
