her home was crumbling and people dear to her were dying.... and she didn't know why.
she had instincts of a fighter because that's what they were trained to do. it was only natural for her to want to fight for her ruined home which she failed to protect. and for a kid who was brainwashed all her life, her emotions were bound to take control of her.
everything that had happened, all of the pain, anger, and confusion... they all led up to this moment. it was not her fault. it was the system's.
the start of her journey to realization
this was when kaya told them about how her mom was eaten. gabi blamed it on the sins committed by their ancestors a long time ago but for kaya, that didn't make sense. and judging by the look in gabi's eyes, it was starting to confuse her too.
when everyone found out the truth about sasha, obviously, they wanted revenge too.
and although short-lived, gabi still had the chance to stay with them and see how welcoming they were. she saw everything she had ever believed in fall into nothingness. it was all a lie.
