Bharadwaja gotra = Garga Gotra
Bharadwaja & Garga gotras are sapravara & hence sagotra, intermarriage is not allowed b/w them.
Following thread is based on shastras (&, this is not my personal/home-made opinion).
Non-believers, peudos, cryptos must ignore it. Only for sanatanis

There are mainly 4 Bharadwajas,namely, Bharadwaja, Garga, Riksha/ Kapila and Kapi. These four are of Aangirasa Gana. Except for gotras of Aangirasa and Bhaargava Ganas, similarity of even one pravara cancels the possibility of marriages in other ganas as per shastras.

Now let us consider the pravaras of these gotras -
1) Bharadwaja- Aangirasa, Baarhaspatya,Bhaaradwaja
2) Riksha/Kapila-Aangirasa, Baarhaspatya,Bhaaradwaja, Vaandana,Maatavachasaa
3) Garga-Aangirasa, Baarhaspatya,Bhaaradwaja, Gaargya,Sainya

4) Kapi- Aangirasa, Baarhaspatya, Bhaaradwaja, Aatmabhuva,Varaatmabhuva
5) Shaunga-Shaishira- Aangirasa, Baarhaspatya, Bhaaradwaja, Shaunga, Shaishira.

Considering the pravaras, these five gotras are having more than half of the pravaras common among them,e.g., Bharadwaja and Garga are having three pravaras ( Aangirasa, Baarhaspatya, Bhaaradwaja) common to both of them.

Thus, Bharadwaja has 100% (i.e., >50%) of its pravaras common with those of Garga &, Garga has 60%(i.e.,>50%) of its pravaras common with those of Bharadwaja.
Therefore, these 5 have sapravaratwa among them and it deletes the possibility of intermarriages among these five gotras.

All concerned parents must pay attention to these issues. Aspirants looking for boyfriends/ girlfriends must also be careful to these issues lest they should find themselves in dilemma later.

Those who don't follow shastras may ignore these junk stories.

भरद्वाज और गर्ग गोत्र एक ही हैं
बहुत- से लोगों की जिज्ञासा का समाधान करने पर सभी को समझ आ जाये इसलिये यह पोष्ट शास्त्रविहित तथ्योंं के आधार पर लिखी जा रही है (यह हमारी अपनी बनी बनाई बात नहीं है), सभी आस्तिकजन ध्यान से पढ़ें-

वास्तव में, सभी ब्राह्मण जातियों (जैसे सरयुपारीण,कान्यकुब्ज,सनाढ्य,आयंगर , अय्यर आदि)के भरद्वाज और गर्ग गोत्र एक ही हैं।ये दोनोंं ही अङ्गिरा के गण के गोत्र हैंं। अन्य सभी गणों में एक प्रवरर्षि की भी समानता विवाहबाधक है परन्तु

भृगु व अङ्गिरा के गणों के दो गोत्रों में आपस में आधे से अधिक प्रवरों के समान होने पर सप्रवरत्व हो जाता है और वह विवाह में बाधक होता है। इसमें भरद्वाज, गर्ग, ऋक्ष और कपि ये चार प्रकार के भरद्वाज कहे गये हैं।

इनके प्रवरर्षि इस प्रकार हैं-
भरद्वाज-आङ्गिरस,बार्हस्पत्य,भारद्वाज
ऋक्ष/कपिल-आङ्गिरस,बार्हस्पत्य,भारद्वाज, वान्दन,मातवचसा
कपि- आङ्गिरस,बार्हस्पत्य,भारद्वाज, आत्मभुव,वरात्मभुव
गर्ग- आङ्गिरस,बार्हस्पत्य,भारद्वाज,गर्ग,शैन्य
शौङ्गशैशिर-आङ्गिरस,बार्हस्पत्य, भारद्वाज,शौङ्ग,शैशिर

इन सभी भारद्वाजों (भरद्वाज,गर्ग,ऋक्ष/ कपिल व कपि) व शौङ्गशैशिर नामक द्विगोत्र, अर्थात् पाँच गोत्रों का परस्पर विवाह शास्त्रदृष्ट्या वर्जित है क्योंकि सबमें आपस में आधे से अधिक प्रवरों का साम्य है।

जैसे- भरद्वाज और गर्ग को देखने पर पता चलता है कि भरद्वाज के तीनों प्रवर (आङ्गिरस,बार्हस्पत्य,भारद्वाज) गर्ग के पाँच प्रवरों में उभयनिष्ठ (common) हैं जो कि 100% अर्थात् आधे से अधिक हैं व

गर्ग के पाँँच प्रवरों में से तीन प्रवर(आङ्गिरस,बार्हस्पत्य,भारद्वाज),भरद्वाज के तीन प्रवरों में उभयनिष्ठ हैं जो कि 60% अर्थात् आधे से अधिक हैं।

अतः भरद्वाज गोत्रों और गर्ग गोत्रों के मध्य विवाह सप्रवरत्व दोष से सगोत्रता आ जाने पर वर्जित है और ऐसा सम्बन्ध शास्त्रदृष्ट्या सगोत्र विवाह जैसे ही अपरिहार्य पाप कराने वाला होता है। इसलिये, सभी मातापिता इन बातों को ध्यान में रखें।

सहचर, सहचरी, मंगेतर इत्यादि बनाते समय भी इन बातों का ध्यान रखें। :D
शास्त्र को न मानने वाले इन बातों को गल्प (गप्प) समझें।
