🖍️ in modern aus it doesn't technically make sense that all the diff families in mdzs use a-[name] for endearment.... the nies would have northeastern accents & blast off 儿(er)s like their lives depended on it.....怀桑儿你过来(huaisar, c'mere) 🖍️
and. y'all. meishan is in present day sichuan which means if u think madam yu sounds aggressive she's actually even WORSE! every word my grandma says sounds simultaneously like fighting, incoherence, & the speed of light imagine the POWER she'd have
certain more modern sichuan sub-dialects (like the chengdu accent) are like....softer/lazier/cutesier? but u better believe yu ziyuan uses the snappiest, crispiest, fastest sichuan speak
i have less understanding of the hubei (yunmeng jiang) accent but they use some of the same pronunciations as sichuan while sounding...nicer/lighter/closer to standard? anw for the sake of this crazy journey what if bc madam yu raised them the yunmeng3 come out--
w janky hubei/sichuan accents, jc in particular leaning more towards the snappiness of sichuanese, wwx taking on smth closer to xz's real cq accent?, jyl closest to general hubei/wuhan, but all of them can understand each other and jfm looks at them like ? Are Those Words, Kids
the lans are in shanghai, so i think they might be more on the a-[name]? but that might be lower in fujian ANW the shanghai dialect is perfect for them, sounds like blocks (?) to me but has a more elegant quality .....like y'all they're rich & on the east coast what more do i say
ok just kidding i do have more to add bc.....there's so much cute stuff that could happen bc lwj would probably call lxc agu/gugu & lxc would call him a-zei (a-zhan) &!!!!!! how do i explain how good that is
anw i started this journey bc i was thinking about how incredibly funny it would be to hear nmj yelling at nhs w a ne accent & i'm just realizing i can't actually describe how wonderful it is in english it'll just live in my head for now but i promise it's GOOD pls ask abt it
also! the map i referenced! all maps are fanmade, but look to be referencing the same ish areas so see!! the nies up in the northeast!! w their 儿s!! meishan where the pronunciation for child in standard means shoes in sichuan!!! SEE!!!!!!!
OK LAST THING please have this super sweet short of xz acting with his cq accent & dialect
