Getting someone’s attention is easy, but keeping it is much harder.

5 Ways You Can Keep a Reader’s Interest

// THREAD //
1. Spacing

If you have all of the text in your site packed into a paragraph form, not many people are going to read it.

Instead, center your text and start a new line with every sentence.

By doing this, it allows for a better flow of the text and makes it easier to read.

Ex:
2. Asking Questions & Answering Them

“How do we get the benefits? The answer is simple...”

By doing this, you throw a twist in what the reader expects.

It also allows you to clearly answer a question the reader might have.

Almost like a FAQ in the text!
3. Transition Words

You should be using these to start off some of your sentences.

You don’t want to overuse them, so sprinkle them in.

A lot of these can be used on a line all by themselves.

Here are a few I use to get you started:
4. Parentheses

Another form of eye relief for readers (these work great).

It’s almost like you’re giving them a little break from the main text.

By putting your own opinion in, it makes things more personable and builds trust.
5. Bolding and Underlining

If you have long chunks of text it will be hard to keep interest.

By bolding and underlining important portions of your copy, it draws the readers attention in.

Keeping them interested and emphasizing the main points.

Example:
If you want to keep the attention of your reader, you should be using all 5 of these methods throughout your copy.

If you can’t get a reader to the end of your copy/page/tweet, then you lost a sale.

And, fun fact, you can use them through your tweets as well :)
