Twenty lessons learned in '20: (thread)
1. Losing your sense of smell/taste is equally as scary as it is convenient.

Covid sucks... but it can always be worse.
2. When looking for a new car, keep your ego in check and just get a Kia. Nobody cares if you drive a Mercedes.

This is more about the principle than what car you drive.
3. A skill worth developing is generously saying "no" to others.

The sooner, the better.
4. Be frugal with time rather than being frugal with money.

Nobody likes a cheap ass.. make sure it's not you.
5. Remember four words when dealing with the stock market: Sit on your hands.

Even with #BTC boys & girls.
6. Everyone needs at least one visit to southeast Asia and it should be to the Philippines.

"Travel is fatal to prejudice, bigotry, and narrow-mindedness."
7. Shooting a gun well is about timed breathing and thinking less.

Fun fact: Women are usually better shots than men.

Keep your ego at home fellas.
8. Find a handful of charities you believe in and donate to them relentlessly.

I chose @foodbankmetrodc
9. Donate your airpods to the nearest trash can — nobody needs a microwave between their brain every day.

Health is more than what you eat.
10. There's no such thing as "too much communication." More communication means enough communication.

Want a better business? Relationship? Team chemistry? Talk more.
11. You know what's better than going to the gym? Bringing your mom with you.

It's tough to get 'em going but once it becomes a habit they'll never want to leave.
12. Also, never forget to check in on your friend's parents, they love you too.
14. The best self-help book available is The Bible.

There's no better book filled with truth.
15. Finding a good red wine is a lot like dating, you gotta go through a lot of shitty ones to find a good one.

Life gets better when you drink @19Crimes
16. For building anything worthwhile: You're not going to know what you need until you start, a great plan is no plan.

This is how I started @AnalectsTweet
17. Managing expectations of others relies on watching behavior and ignoring words.

Life hack 101.
18. One of the most therapeutic activities you can do is play a round of golf by yourself.

Learn something brand new and try to get very good at it. I chose golf.
19. Networking is worthless: Focus on creating great work that’ll attract great opportunities. High-quality relationships are a byproduct.

Stole this from @naval and never looked back.
20. Impostor syndrome is a bottleneck we all have to get through. No matter if its the CEO or the gatekeeper on the phone; you’re there for a damn good reason so act like it.

It’s helpful to have some arrogance with paranoia.
